Nuclearelectrica: there is no increase of the level of radiations in Romania, following the explosion in Russia
The level of radiations on the territory of Romania did not increase, following the explosion in Russia, stated on Wednesday Cosmin Ghita, the general manager of Nuclearelectrica, in a press conference.
He was asked by the journalists if he received any information in connection to the incident of Russia. ‘We didn’t receive any information different from the public one. It is a military incident.
As CNCAN (National commission for the control of nucler activity ) showed there is no increase of the level of radiations. Neither do we, in Cernavoda where we monitor these emissions, we didn’t notice any increase of the level of radiations’ Ghita said.
Last Friday, the townhall of Severodvinsk of Russia informed with regards to an ‘ increase for a short time’ of radioactivity after the explosion happening on Thursday at a base of missiles launching in the region Arhngelsk (north-western Russia) during the testing of a missile engine on liquid fuel, the explosition being followed by fire, according to AFP Reuters, RBC and the radio station Govorit Moskva.
Previously, the Russian ministry of defence assured that ‘there is no radioactive contamination’ and ‘ the level is normal’. The Russian Rosatom atomic agency informed on Monday that it was about a failed test with a missile with nuclear combustion and five employees died in the incident.
