OSCE: The Transdniester conflict must be solved only by observing the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova

The Ministerial council of OSCE which took place in Vienne showed the importance of a peaceful and durable regulation of the Transniester conflict, which could be produced only by the observance of sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of  Moldova, relates Deschide.md.

The Ministerial council of OSCE took  place between 7-8 December in Vienne. At the end there was adopted a Declaration with regards to the negotiations for the regulation of the Transniester conflict in format “5+2”.

‘The participating states of OSCE show the importance of the peaceful and durable regulation of the Transniester conflict with the observance of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within the acknowledged borders on international plan, as well as the adoption of a special statute for the Transniester region’ the press release of the minister of foreign affairs and the Republic of Moldova says.

Recently, the Moldavian president Igor Dodon spoke about the regulation of the conflict in Transniester through federalisation and against a possible union with Romania. In order to solve the Transniester conflict there were started discussions of peace in format 5+2 which  mean the

Participation of the Republic of Moldova, Transniestr, OSCE, Russia,Ukraine and the observer on the part of the US and he EU.

The separatist region Transniester stated its independence to the Republic of Moldova in 1990, justifying the decision with the fear of a possible reunification of the Republic of Moldova to Romania.
