Over 350 immigrants tried to get into the country at the green border this year
The border officers in Timis found,from the beginning of the year to the present moment over 350 immigrants which tried to get into the country illegally at the green border, informs the general inspector of the Border Police (IGPF) in a press release.
In all cases the border authorities of the neighbouring state have been contacted with a view to investigating together the events and applying the readmission agreement.
IGPF reminds that in August the Border Police Timisoara applied the plan to keep and ensure the increased degree of security of the state border in the south-east area of Romania to counter-attack and combat the migrating phenomenon.
The border police officers have joint missions with 50 workers in the County Inspectorate of Gendarmes Timis and the Group of Mobile Gendarmes Timisoara as well as with the workers in the Police Inspectorate Timis.
At the same time, they benefit from the support of 22 canine teams with 24 instructors from the Canine Centre Sibiu which have surveillance and intervention missions in the area of competence of the Border Police Moravita, Deta, Cruceni and Jimbolia both during the day and the night.
The security measures of the border aim at the combating of the migrating phenomenon at the border by ensuring the visible presence of the mixed teams at the state border, IGPF says.
