Rosia Montana, included on the indicative list of UNESCO: a first step to the Patrimony
The minister of culture,Corina Suteu announced on Saturday the site Rosia Montana was included on the indicative list of UNESCO adding that this is the first step to the list, more restrictive of the UNESCO heritage.
Corina Suteu explained in a post on Facebook that the decision was taken in Paris at the UNESCO headquarters where between 24 and 26 October took place the 40th working session of the Committee of the World Heritage.
‘’In the meeting on Wednesday 26 October the plenary adopted the document WHC/16/40.COM/8A which includes the proposals of the member states of the organisation for objectives to be included in the indicative list of UNESCO.Among these, it was adopted the site Rosia Montana, proposed by Romania. We mention the fact that the inclusion on the indicative list is the first step in the possible proposal for the respective site to get on the list, more restrictive of the UNESCO heritage. But it is a step which matters’ the minister of culture wrote on the socialising network.
According to her, Romania was represented by Irina Iamandescu, manager at the National Institute of the Patrimony in Bucharest, ambassador Adrian Cioroianu, permanent delegate to UNESCO and Flavio Pironea, permanent deputy delegate of Romania to UNESCO.
