Over 500 foreigners in illegal situations, tracked in first quarter of 2018

In the first quarter of this year, the Immigration officers tracked 533 foreigners in illegal situations and in the case of 390 of them they took measures to expel them from the territory of Romania, the Immigrations Inspectorate General (IGI) informs on Wednesday.

According to a release sent by IGI, representatives of 183 companies were fined for failing to observe the legal regime enforced for foreign employees.

IGI ensured in the first quarter of 2018 the management of the legal stay in Romania for almost 120,000 foreign citizens, out of whom 69,248 come from third states (most from Moldova - 10,513, Turkey - 9,277 and China - 7,973) and 50,379 from EU, EEA member states and the Swiss Confederation (Italy - 14,480, Germany - 6,039, France - 6,006).
