Parliament approves setting up Multinational Command Support Brigade in Romania

The Parliament plenum adopted on Thursday president Klaus Iohannis’ letter about the approval to set up the Multinational Command Support Brigade in Romania, led by the Multinational Command Division.

According to the decision adopted by the Legislative body, during its functioning in Romania, the Multinational Command Support Brigade and its staff benefit from protocol provisions of the statute of international military commands set up by NATO.

“The Defence Ministry concludes understandings with NATO military authorities and participating allied states on the organization, functioning, personnel, administration, host nation support  as well as other details needed to fulfil the mission of the Multinational Command Support Brigade. The deployment of the Brigade for missions outside Romania is made upon the order of NATO military authorities,” the document shows.
