PM Dancila starts today visits to Turkey, Gulf states mainly with an economic agenda
Prime minister Viorica Dancila is going to pay a visit next week to Turkey and the Gulf countries, on Friday said the Romanian chief diplomat Teodor Melescanu.
"It will be a one-week trip, to Turkey on Monday and Tuesday, then to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, after which she will head for Kuwait," said Melescanu at the Parliament Palace.
The Foreign Affairs minister added that the Premier's visit to the Gulf states and Turkey, as well as the other official trips she accomplished in various countries, Spain included, "are focused on economic collaboration and attracting investment to Romania," a strength being from this viewpoint, "the presentation of the rd 12 public-private partnership projects for Romania's infrastructure."
"As you know, the Gulf countries have specialised bodies in making investments in other countries and obviously we have a particular interest in explaining, presenting the advantages of investing in Romania in top public-private partnership projects. As for Turkey, it is about a relationship that you know is very close, it is one of our important partners in this area and on this occasion various consultation memorandums will be inked between the foreign affairs ministries, some programmes, for instance regarding the Emirates, we shall probably draft a memo for tourism, for visa waiving, diplomatic and service passports, we envisage some other things, too, but the main emphasis is on the economic collaboration and the investment promotion in Romania," Melescanu asserted.
