Ponta: We've decided to extend Rosia Montana commission mandate by 30 days
Prime Minister Victor Ponta has said on Friday that the decision of the special commission tasked with analyzing the gold mining project at Rosia Montana to take the agreement with company RMGC out of the project is sovereign, but he stressed the ruling Social Liberal Union (USL) decided to extend the body's mandate by 30 days with the hope 'that a common position will be reached'.
'We decided to extend the commission mandate next week, so that it might finalize all the hearings and read all the materials having been made available and the commission decision is sovereign over the Government', Ponta told a news conference after the USL meeting.
