Premier Ciolos discussed with the German president about the opportunities for investment in Romania
Premier Dacian Ciolos presented on Monday to the Federal German president Joachim Gauck the opportunities which Romania is offering for foreign investors in a meeting which the two high officials had at Palatul Victoria according to a press release of the government.
The quoted source says that the Romanian prime-minister informed about the intention to pay a visit in September on the lands Bavaira, Badern-Wurtemberg and Westfalia and North Renania for the extension of bilateral economic cooperation.
‘The discussions showed the special role which the German minority of Romania, the Romanians and the German ethnics coming from Romania and who live in Germany have in creating bridges at social, cultural, economic and political level’ informs the government.
At the same time, in the meeting, the two high officials tackled some of the main challenges domestic and foreign for the European Union.
‘Romania and Germany will have a dialogue for the putting to value of the European construction, thus placing in the centre the desires of their citizens’ according to the same press release.
The Romanian premier and the German president had an exchange of opinions on the issue of continuing the efforts of understanding and assuming the communist past in our country.
‘The Federal president Gauck offered his personal experience in this domain. The Romanian premier thanked the German president for his visit to Romania, appreciating the role of president Gauck for the promotion of the values of democracy and civil liberties’ the governmet says.
The German president Joachim Gauck has been on a state visit to Romania since Monday.
