President of Romanian Weather Society: Drought is just the beginning, hard times will follow
Ion Sandu, the president of the Romanian Weather Society, declared on Wednesday in Focsani, that drought is just the beginning and hard times will come, so governments should take measures for the following period of time.
“I want to tell you that hard times will follow. To reduce future drought effects, we must irrigate. Farm protection curtains must be made. These are problems you should discuss. The anti-grail and rain increase system is part of these four measures governments must adopt for the times to come. The fourth is investing money in research, choosing varieties resisting to drought. They are general rules. If we do not observe and implement them all at once, we will uselessly meet next year. Drought is awful but it is just the beginning,”said Sandu at a meeting with farmers from Vrancea and Bacau counties.
