SoNoRo Musikland, 4th edition 2022

The 4th edition of the Festival SoNoRo Musikland will be held netween July 22 and 31, in some of the most beautiful towns in Transylvania: Brasov, Prejmer, Halchiu, Crit, Medendorf, Sighisoara, Viscri and Prod, says a press release issued by organizers.

While the first edition of SoNoRo Musikland concentrated only on German fortified churches, the second edition extended and included jamsession type concerts in houses included in tourist circuit of the area – Mesendorf Gasthaus, Viscri 125 and Cross Country Farm of Pond. They honor the Saxon heritage of old peasant houses with architectural elements harmoniously integrated in the modern structure of new areas.

This year, SoNoRo Musikland begins with a concert in St John Square in Brasov, an urban area used by the city for open air cultural events and will continue with new places, included for the first time in the festival: one of the most beautiful buildings in Brasov's historic center, built in 1869 by architect Peter Bartesch – the palace in 27, Muresenilor street now called HUB 2068; the fortified church in Prejmer, part of Prejmer stronghold, included in UNESCO world cultural patrimony and Heldsdorf mansion of Halchiu village, a former barn turned into event area.

The Weavers' Bastion, the fortified church of Crit, the fortified church of Mesendorf, the Baroque Hall of Sighisoara Town Hall, Mesendorf Gasthaus, Viscri125 Pension, Cross Country Farm of Prod and the fortified church of Viscri represent areas where we happily return and where the 12 world renowned musicians will create unique musical moments.
