PSD Dambovita vicepresident : Dragnea should resign from head of Chamber of Deputies
Fanut Costea, the vicepresident of social-democrats (PSD) în Dambovita county, said on a local TV station that party leader Liviu Dragnea, should resign from the head of the Chamber of Deputies.
“Yes! Liviu Dragnea should resign from the head of the Chamber of Deputies! As for the position of president of the Social Democratic Party, the question should be approached at the party Congress, next year,” Fanut Costea said on Columna TV, according to ripostapenet.ro.
PDS leader Liviu Dragnea was placed under penal investigation by DNA under accusations of setting up an organized criminal group, the use of fake, inexact or incomplete documents or statements and obtaining advantages for him or other persons, in a file in which 8 other people are under penal investigation. According to prosecutors, Liviu Dragnea, as chairman of Teleorman County Council initiated an organized criminal group which is still acting and which includes public officers and businessmen.
Former PSD leader Victor Ponta declared on Tuesday, at a press conference, that MPs from his party, Pro Romania, were in favour of Liviu Dragnea’s replacement from the position of president of the Chamber of Deputies, but did not back the no confidence motion initiated by PNL, which cannot bring anything good for Romania.
He pointed out he supported the idea that PSD could nominate another president of the Chamber of Deputies among the present vicepresidents or a person who did not have problems and did not head works on the laws of justice, the budget law or any other laws which the Chamber of Deputies should adopt rapidly until the end of the year.
“As long as Dragnea is Chamber president, all these important problems will be frozen, while the Chamber of Deputies will be used as shield for Dragnea’s personal problems,” said the former premier.
