Romania and Turkey plan to have 8 billion euros in bilateral exchanges in four or five years
Romania and Turkey have the common aim for the next 4-5 years to make trade exchanges worth 8 billion euros a year after in 2012 the value of the bilateral exchanges amounted to 4.3 billion euros.
Minister Delegate for SMEs, the Business Environment and Tourism Maria Grapini last week talked with the representatives of the Association of Turkish Businessmen (TIAD) a number of suggestions for deepening the cooperation in such fields as industry, SMEs and innovative clusters, reads a release the Romanian Ministry of Economy.The talks held with the TIAD delegation, headed by president of the association Omer Susli, aimed to increase the number of bilateral ministerial contracts with a view to promoting projects that should lead to achieving the common aim, namely the trade exchanges should total 8 billion euros in the next 4-5 years.
As a matter of fact Turkey is Romania's first extra-community commercial partner and the fifth partner in Romania's total trade relations with other states. During the meeting Maria Grapini emphasized the fact that an important sector was tourism, which has a potential of developing bilateral cooperation.
During the above-mentioned talk the Turkish delegation requested support for making it easier to get the Romanian tourist visa.
Minister Maria Grapini assured the representatives of the Turkish businessman that the measures and regulations to be taken by the Ministry of Economy, by the Romanian authorities in general, would aim to favour the business and investment environment, the activity of the companies running Romania and foreign capital.
