Romania encourages stronger local presence of South-Korean companies
The Foreign Ministry's Secretary of State for Global Affairs Daniela Gitman on Monday received in audience South Korea's Ambassador Agréé to Romania Kim Eun-joong on the occasion of the presentation of his credentials; during the talks the Romanian side said it was encouraging a stronger presence of South Korean companies in Romania, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.
According to a release, the sides reviewed the stage and prospects of bilateral relations, with emphasize on the importance of strengthening political dialogue and economic cooperation.
"The Romanian side encouraged a stronger presence of South Korean companies in Romanian economy, expressing in this respect hopes that at its forthcoming session in Bucharest, the two states' Joint Committee on industrial cooperation will establish concrete projects in energy, oil and gas, SMEs, the defence industry, communications and the information society," the Foreign Ministry informs.
The sides also discussed possibilities to expand exchanges in culture, education, tourism and sports.
"Secretary of State Daniela Gitman and Ambassador Kim Eun-joong exchanged views on the recent developments in the region. The Romanian official expressed the concern of the Bucharest authorities over the nuclear and ballistic missile tests conducted by North Korea which pose a threat to peace and security in the Korean Peninsula, Northeastern Asia and the entire world," reads the release.
