Study: The number of unqualified workers in Romania increased by 8%
Romania has an average of 14.1% unqualified workers, the highest share in Bihor, 25.5% against Bucharest where there is the lowest share of only 8.21% according to a study of the Employers’ Association of Romania (PIAROM), launched on Thursday.
The number of unqualified workers increased by 8%, the lack of qualified people being a problem of the entrepreneurs, stated Anca Vlad the founder of the group Fildas-Catena.
Among the occupations with most work contracts for unqualified work are confections ( 97.304 ) assembly of parts (72,242)and the domain of goods manipulation (71,285) according to the information presented in the PIAROM conference where they launched the study regarding the analysis of the work force at the level of the development regions of Romania.
‘ Our country brand is unqualified work and subsistence’ said professor Constantin Ciutacu from the National Institute of Economic Studies Costin C.Kiritescu.
There are 14 occupations which have over 10,000 work contracts in Romania in the area of unqualified work. ‘ From the analysis there resulted that the industry increased as number of work places but the growth of 8% was for unqualified workers, while the qualified works dropped slightly by 0.3%. Per structure, it seems we go to the consolidation of those economic sectors which use unqualified work despite the others’ Mihai Cioc, member of PIAROM and doctor in economy says.
Unqualified workers in the industry of textiles occupy the fourth position in the ranking of occupations in the private sector with over 97,000 work contracts. The first place is occupied by drivers of big trucks with almost 130,000 work contracts, followed by shop assistants (125,000) and commercial workers (120,000).the fifith is security agents with 93,000 work places.
According to PIAROM the share of unqualified workers in the north-east region is 14.6% slightly over the national average of 14,12% in the region South-West Oltenia the share of unqualified workers is under the national average reaching only 12% in the region Centre the share reachers 17% and the region south-east the rate of unqualified workers is 15%, in the region West the unqualified workers reach 16% in North-West is 19% and South-Muntenia the averageis 15%.
