Survey: 42% of the Romanians consider that Russia will invade Ukraine, 65% consider that invasion is illegitimate

The data of an Avangarde survey which measures the public perception on the situation in Ukraine, at the command of G4Media, shows that 42% of the interviewees think that Russia will invade Ukraine, only 29% considering that the invasion will not take place. 64% of the interviewees see Russia as a threat for Romania, while the majority (56%) support the supplementary NATO troops deployment to Eastern Europe with only 18% rejecting it.

 

The survey shows that the Romanians trust more premier Nicolae Ciuca than president Klaus Iohannis when they are asked about the management of a crisis generated by a possible invasion from Russia.

 

Over 50% agree with the intention of the US and France to send supplementary troops to Romania, while 18% disagree.

The question ‘Do you think that NATO should supplement the troops to Eastern Europe due to the tensions at the border of Ukraine?’ was answered affirmatively by 56% and 19% answered negatively, while 26% cannot appreciate.

 

The survey Avangarde at the command of G4Media was made between 21.01 and 23.01. 2022 on 701 interviewees from the adult non-institutionalised population of Romania, through method of the phone interview with an error margin of 3.9 over the level of trust of 95%.
