The EC reaction to the proposal of Teodorovici : the free circulation of the employees is a fundamental right
The European Commission says when referring to the proposal of Eugen Teodorovici in connection to the limitation of the workforce in the EU states that free access is a fundamental right and the Commission has fought for the creation of a fairer domestic market
‘Usually we don’t comment on the comments.
The free circulation of the employees is a fundamental right in the EU, one of the pillars of the domestic market included in treaties and according to the studies, the right which the Europeans enjoy most.
The position of the European Commission was very clear from the very beginning of this mandate: the creation of a domestic market fairer and with deeper integration represents an essential element for the construction of social Europe. To really function, mobility of the workforce must rely on clear regulations, correct and applicable, for example through the consecration of the principle of equal remuneration for equal work, made in similar positions by all employees.
At the same time, through the European pillar of social rights, the EU assumed the commitment to ensure working conditions and better living all over the Union, in the context of the challenges, such the aging of the citizens, globalisation and digitilisation’ the position of the European Commission says, sent through the words of Christian Wigand, spokesperson.
