The employment rate of working-age population up to 63.3% in third quarter
The employment rate of the working-age population (15-64 years) was, in the third quarter of 2023, 63.3%, an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the second quarter of 2023, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) informed on Friday.
The employment rate was higher for men (71.9% compared to 54.6% for women) and for people from urban areas (69% compared to 57.2% in rural areas). The employment rate of young people (15-24 years) was 19%.
Unemployment rate in the third quarter of 2023 was 5.4%, a value equal to that recorded in the second quarter of 2023.
By gender, the difference between the two unemployment rates was 0.4 percentage points (5.5% for men versus 5.1% for women), and by residential environments, by 6.3 percentage points (8.8 % in rural areas, compared to 2.5% in urban areas).
By age group, the unemployment rate reached the highest level (22.1%) among young people (15-24 years old).
