The minister of economy: Romania is a regional hub in the IT, auto and auto parts industries

Romania is a regional hub in the IT, auto and autoparts industry for which we have work force not only cheap but well qualified stated on Friday Manuel Costescu, state secretary for the promotion of foreign investments in the ministry of economy at the forum ‘ China (Xianghstan) – Romania Investment Forum’.

‘China represents not only a trustworthy partner but a real friend for Romania. The relations between our countries has consolidated in time. The over 65 years of economic and diplomatic relations constitute the necessary premises for the putting into practice of some projects where mutual values and vision are possible.Romania can be found among the countries positioned in the Silk Road. I trust that in the years to come Romania will be an important element in the development of this project’ Manuel Costescu said.

China is the main commercial partner of Romania in the Asian area from the point of view of the value of commercial exchanges.

Over 30 Romanian companies and 20 Chinese ones took part in ‘ China (Xianghstan) – Romania Investment Forum’event dedicated to the competitive advantages of Romania and the country offer.

‘The presence of a strong Chinese delegation from Xianghstan demonstrates that there is a high potential for economic cooperation. I am confident that the meeting of today will lead to new investments by the signing of profitable business partnerships. And the foreign investors who invest in Romania represent the best promotion for the economic environment in our country’ Manuel Costescu said.

The representatives of the companies Ningbo HuaXiang Electronic from China and Hib-Rolem Trim of Romania, a German-Romanian company which activates in auto parts signed during the Forum an agreement for an investment of 30 million dollars. The project means the construction and the equipment for a new production hall with the surface of 15,000 sqm and the creation of 265 new work places. The project will be started in QI of 2017 and will be finalised in QII of 2019.

The business forum was organised by the ministry of economy, commerce and business environment through Invest Romania and has the purpose the drawing of new investment projects in the region of Xiangshan of China and the creation of the necessary premises for the establishment of partnerships between the local and the Chinese companies. Thus, the representatives of over 20 Chinese companies and over 30 companies from Romania will have the occasion to identify concrete opportunities for collaboration. The companies in Xiangstan activate in domains such as auto parts, electronics, textiles and food.
