The National Bank has decided to reduce the key interest at 1.5% per year
The Board of the BNR had decided on Wednesday to reduce the key interest of monetary policy at the level of 1.50% per year, from 1.75% per year, starting with 6th August, informs the central bank.
The board of BNR has also decided to reduce the rate of interest for the facility of deposit at 1,00% per year from 1.25% per year and the rate of interest due for loans (Lombard) at 2.00% per year from 2.25% per year.
‘The board of the BNR gathered in a meeting on 5th August 2020 has decided the following: the reduction of the rate of interest for monetary policy at the level of 1.50% per year from 1.75% per year starting with 6th August, the reduction of the rate of interest for deposits at 1,00% per year from 1.25% and the rate of interest due to loans (Lombard) at 2.00% per year from 2.25% per year; keeping the present levels of the rates for minimum compulsory reserves for liabilities
In lei and foreign currency of the lending institutions; the continuation of the repo operations and purchase of state bonds in lei from the secondary market’ the BNR press release says.
