The new orders in manufacturing increased in nominal terms by 18.9% in March 2017 compared to March 2016

In March 2017, the new orders in manufacturing overall (domestic market and non?domestic market), in nominal terms, increased by 16.9% compared to the previous month and were up 18.9% from the same month of the previous year.

In the 1.I?31.III.2017 period, the new orders in manufacturing rose in nominal terms by 12.7% compared to the 1.I?31.III.2016 period.
New orders from the manufacturing industry increased by 12.7 pct in the first quarter of this year as compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a press release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS) sent on Thursday.
The appreciation is due to increases in the durable goods industry (+ 20.4 pct), the intermediate goods industry (+ 18 pct), the capital goods industry (+ 10.9%) and the consumer goods industry (+3.8 pct).
"In March 2017, as against the previous month, orders rose by 16.9 pct as a result of increases in the capital goods industry (+ 18.0 pct), the intermediate goods industry (+ 17.0 pct), the durable goods industry (+ 16.5 pct) and the current use goods industry (+ 10.3%)," reads the document.
According to the INS, in March 2017 as compared to March 2016, the increase was 18.9 pct.
