The rate of unemployment for December slightly dropped at 2.97%
The rate of unemployment recorded at national level, at the end of December 2019, slightly dropped by 0.01 percentage points reported at that recorded in the previous month, and with 0.34 percentage points lower than that of December 2018, informs on Wednesday the Na?ional Agency for the Recruitment (ANOFM).
The total number of unemployed recorded at the end of December of 257,865 dropped by 1,523 people against the number at the end of the previous month. Out of the unemployed recorded, 58,336 were unemployed with allowance and 199,529 without any payment. The number of the unemployed with allowance increased by 4,172 people, and the number of unemployed without allowance dropped by 5,695 people against the previous month. The number of unemployed at the end of December is thus: 78,907 unemployed come from the urban environment and 178,958 come from the rural environment.
Most unemployed were between 40 and 49 years old (70,526) followed by those over 55 (49,618) at the other end being those aged 25-29 (12,954).When referring to the structure of unemployment without studies and those with limited education have an important share in the total of those recorded with ANOFM (28%). Unemployed with secondary school are 29.40% of the total and those with third level of education are 5,29%.
