Trade turnover up 0.8% in the first 11 months of 2023
Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles) increased in the first 11 months of 2023, in nominal terms, compared to the period 1 January - 30 November 2022, both as a gross series and as a series adjusted for the number of working days and seasonality by 0.8% and 2.4% respectively, the National Institute of Statistics announced on Monday.
The evolution of the first eleven months of last year, as gross series, was due to the increase of wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment and supplies (+12.3%), informatics equipment and telecommunications equipment (+10.6%) consumption goods, other than food (+9.9%) wholesale intermediation (+7.8%) and non-specialised wholesale trade (+4.4%). Wholesale trade of food, beverages and tobacco remained at the same level. Decreases were recorded in specialized wholesale of other products (-9.1%) and wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals (-5.6%).
Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), working-day and seasonally adjusted series, for the period 1 January to 30 November 2023, compared with the period 1 January to 30 November 2022, increased in nominal terms by 2.4% overall.
Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, in November 2023, compared with the previous month, decreased in nominal terms overall by 4.1% as a result of the decrease in turnover in wholesale trade of agricultural raw materials and live animals (-20%), other products (-7.7%), wholesale trade of other machinery, equipment and supplies (-2.7%) and in wholesale trade intermediation (-2.5%). Increases were registered in wholesale of computer and telecommunication equipment (+3.1%), non-specialised wholesale trade (+1.1%), wholesale of consumer goods other than food (+0.7%) and wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco (+0.6%).
Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles), working-day and seasonally adjusted series, in November 2023 compared with the previous month, increased in nominal terms by 0.2% overall.
Also, turnover in wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles and motorcycles), gross series, in November 2023 compared to November 2022, decreased in nominal terms by 3 overall, 4% as a result of a decrease in turnover in wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals (-12.9%), wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco (-10.4%), specialised wholesale of other products (-10.0%) and wholesale trade intermediation (-4.1%).
Increases were registered in non-specialised wholesale trade (+10.1%), wholesale of consumer goods other than food (+7.4%), wholesale of computer and telecommunication equipment (+6.7%) and wholesale of other machinery, equipment and supplies (+4.8%).
Turnover in wholesale trade (excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles), working-day and seasonally adjusted series, in November 2023 compared with November 2022, decreased in nominal terms by 3.2% overall.
