Health : Romania in top of European TB cases

Several reports show that over 25,000 new TB cases appeared in 2005 and over 100 new cases per 1000 inhabitants appear every year, ranking Romania first in Europe. Although the number of cases is on the drop compared to previous years, Romania is the country with most cases in Europe. Dr. Constantin Marica, the coordinator of the National TB Control Program says the number of cases is 10 times higher than the European average.
