In July 2016 wheat exports were 140% higher than last year

New wheat export season started better for Romania than the previous 2015/16, informs UkrAgroConsult quoted by blackseagrain.net. Over the first month of 2016/17 Romania exported second largest volume of wheat for the given month - 735 KMT (305 KMT in July 2015; record volume - in July 2014/15 – 745 KMT).

In July 2016 Romania considerably widened wheat export geography compared to the same month of 2015 due to competitive export price and record wheat crop (8320 KMT against 7900 KMT in 2015/16).

Ethiopia became key importer of Romanian wheat in July 2016, replacing Egypt – key importer of 2015/16 and previous several seasons. Egypt lowered its purchases to 32.5 KMT, which accounted only for 4% in the total exports against 183.56 KMT in July 2015.

High volumes were imported by Vietnam, South Korea, Tunisia and Japan.
