Real estate: Real estate market: 20% more transactions in 5 months

The number of real estate transactions grew by 20% (323,419) in the first five months of the year compared to the same period of 2012, while mortgages registered with the National Agency of Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising slightly dropped.

 

The number of real estate transactions grew by over 55,000 in the first five months of 2013 compared to the same period of 2012. Over January – May 2013 the number of cadastre operations at national level was over 2 million, 237,975 more than in 2012.

 

In May there were 60,770 real estate transactions at national level, 14,167 fewer than the previous months and 8,007 fewer than in May 2012.

 

In the first 5 months most cadastre operations were registered in Bucharest – 136,447, Timis – 123,492, Cluj -98,309, while the fewest were in Covasna- 23,117, Olt – 22,706, Salaj- 19,991. The only county with the fewest operations is Mures with 20,320. At the same time, the number of mortgages was 54,472, on the drop by 696 against 2012. In May the number of mortgages at national level was 10,656, 3,094 fewer than the previous month and 1901 fewer than in May 2012.

 

The number of first registration operations in the integrated cadastre system reached 177,543 , 31,629 more than in 2012. 33,099 such operations were registered in May, 8443 fewer than in April and 5,319 fewer than in May 2012.

 

Last year the number of real estate transactions made in Romania grew by 9.1% against 2011, from 646,112 to 705,338 operations and there was also a 20% drop of the number of mortgages.
