TAP Portugal Air Company comes to Romania

The Portuguese national air company TAP Portugal comes to the Romanian market with flights three times a week, as of June 30, according to presstur.com. Direct Lisbon-Bucharest flights will be operational on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11.10 p.m., while flights from Bucharest to Lisbon will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 6.00 a.m.

The planes are Airbus A 319.“The Romanian community in Portugal is the fourth largest in the country, after Cape Verde, Ukraine and Brazil. The TAP flight between Lisbon and Bucharest will allow a connection to stimulate traffic to Porto, Faro, Madeira and Azores, thus contributing to the increase of tourism demand in these destinations,” TAP officials say.

The air company will operation as of June 5 to Berlin and as of June 3 to Torino.

TAP operates flights to 51 destinations in 22 European countries. The company transported 5.79 million passengers in Europe last year, on the rise by 9.2% compared to 2010.

TAP Portugal, founded in 1945 as Transportes Aeros Portugueses, is Portugal’s national airline, held by the state. It is also a member of Star Alliance.

TAP operates toward 80 destinations in 36 world countries with 2,000 flights a week and a fleet of 55 Airbus planes.
