ANRE fines four energy suppliers with 2 million lei for disregarding law in liberalization context
The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) fined Hidroelectrica, E.ON, Electrica and Enel with 2.01 million lei for not observing regulations in supplying electricity in the context of market liberalization, according to a press release.
Considering protests received from consumers, ANRE initiated and completed control actions carried out at electricity suppliers.
The following aspects were checked: the organization and functioning of call centers; observing the obligation to communicate, upon request, offers about electricity supply conditions in the competition market; observing the obligation to sign the electricity supply contract in five days since receiving necessary documents from the final customer.
ANRE found out that regulations concerning electricity supply in the context of liberalizing the electric energy market and applied a series of actions.
Hidroelectrica was fined for 410,000 lei for not observing legal provisions in the organization and functioning of call centers, not observing the 15 work days deadline for sending electricity supply offers in the competition market and not observing the 5 day deadline for signing electricity supply contracts.
In their turn, Electrica Furnizare and E.ON Energie Romania were each fined for 400,000 lei for not observing the 15 work days deadline for sending electricity supply offers in the competition market and not observing the 5 day deadline for signing electricity supply contracts.
Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia were fined for 400,000 lei each for not observing the 5 day deadline for signing electricity supply contracts.
