Delgaz Grid, in the E.ON group proposed for this year investments by 36% more than in 2022
The Delgaz Grid company, part of E.ON group in Romania budgeted for this year investments of 915 million lei (over 180 million euro) by 36% more against the previous year. The funds will mainly go to the modernization, extension, automation and digitization of the distribution networks of natural gas and electricity.
The company operates 25,000 km of natural gas network and over 81,000 km of electricity network.
Natural gas – investments worth 410 million lei (83 million euro) are included. Pipelines and connections for natural gas on a length of over 250 km.
Electricity – investments worth 505 million lei (102 million euro) out of which 95 million lei (19 million euro) represent EU funds.
Projects with European funds – at present, six projects worth almost 254.5 million lei without VAT (almost 51.9 million euro) with financing of 182.3 million lei (almost 37.2 million euro) are in different stages of implementation.
This year the modernisation of almost 1,800 km of network and the installation of 175 remote controlled equipment (separators and rescalers) were also planned.
Smart metering – at the end of 2022 were installed smart metering devices for almost 300,000 users. For the next years, Delgaz Grid is going to install almost 425,000 devices, which means 47% of the clients will have smart devices installed until the end of 2028.
Last year, the company invested 673 million lei (136.5 million euro) out of which 390 million lei (79 million euro) represent the value of the investments in the distribution of natural gas.
As for electricity, there were investments worth 283 million lei (57.5 million euro) out of which 26 million lei (5.3 million euro) represent EU funds.
The network was extended with 566 km and over 28,000 new users were connected. Last year, the number of prosumers reached 5,455, the triple value against 2021.
Delgaz Grid, the distribution company in the German group E.ON operates on a natural gas network of 25,000 km in 20 counties in the northern and western part of Romania (Cluj, Bistrita Nasaud, Maramures, Satu Mare, Salaj, Timis,Arad,Bihor, Caras-Severin, Hunedoara, Mures, Sibiu, Alba, Harghita, Iasi, Botosani, Vaslui, Suceava, Neamt and Bacau) and an electricity network of over 81,000 km in six counties in Moldova: Bacau, Botosani, Iasi, Neamt, Suceava and Vaslui. From the moment they entered the local market in 2005, E.ON has invested 2.1 billion euro mainly for the modernization of the networks for gas and electricity and paid to the state taxes worth 3 billion euro.
