Hidroelectrica wants to add in the next years 300 MW in wind off-shore and 300 MW in wind on-shore
Hidroelectrica, one of the biggest producers of energy in the country, wants to add 300 MW installed power in wind off-shore and 300 MW in wind on-shore as well as in production capacities for production of green hydrogen on the Danube, stated Bogdan Badea, the chairman of the leadership of Hidroelectrica.
The minister of energy, Virgil Popescu, together with the state secretary George Niculescu and accompanied by Bogdan Badea, the chairman of the leadership of Hidroelectrica and other representatives of the authorities and of the company visited the Wind Park Crucea, Constanta county, unit recently added to the portfolio of the company. On this occasion, the minister was presented with the command chamber, the turbines, as well as the transformation unit belonging to the park.
The inclusion in the portfolio Hidroelectrica of the park of 108 MW in Crucea is the first M&A of success made by a Romanian company for ‘ The development of the energy system to the green area for production of electricity represents one of the priorities of my tenure as minister. Beyond the acquisition, which is very useful in diversifying the mix of intra-company production, I would like to encourage the Romanian companies to get focused on the initiation of projects for the development of new objectives. We are in Dobrogea, the wind gate for Romania, and the centre of interest for many of the green projects we have. The Black Sea is, quite close,and I profitfrom my presence here to reiterate the interest of the Romanian state for the wind off shore potential’ stated minister Virgil Popescu.

Hidroelectrica is a leader in the production of electricity and the main supplier of technological services necessary in the National Energy System and it is a vital company for a strategic sector. Hidroelectrica has a number of 187 capacities in exploitation with an installed power of 6,372 MW.The company has also in its portfolio the wind park in Crucea with an installed capacity of 108 MW, the objective being taken over by Steag Gmbh.
