Household electricity price will rise by as much as 8 pct beginning July 1
The household electricity price will rise by as much as 8 pct beginning July 1, according to the Thursday decision of the Regulatory Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE), institution representatives said.
Beginning July 1, the final energy price for households will be made of an ANRE-regulated fee that accounts for 10 percent of the total price, and a component that reflects the price on the free market (90 percent).
ANRE president Niculae Havrilet announced in February this year that the population's electricity bill might rise by 1 - 2 percent as of July 1 as a result of the very high prices on the electricity exchange this January.
Exchange electricity prices soared in January to over 650 lei per MWh at the end of the month, double the figure in the first days of 2017.
