Petromidia refinery manufactured the largest quantity of raw material in May
The Petromidia refinery, part of Rompetrol Rafinare manufactured in May over 465,000 tons of raw material, the highest level since 1979, surpassing by 7% the production record of 14,000 tons per day, after investments of over 1.3 billion dollars for the refinery platform.
‘Due to the investments of over 1.3 billion dollars made on the Petromedia platform by KMG International and its single shareholder KazMunayGas, the national company of oil and gas in Kazakhstan, the refinery managed to improve its energy efficiency and the maintenance of mechanical availability (97%) and operational (96.8%) with important impact in the reduction of the processing cost with approximately 2 USD/ton (18.3 USD/ton)’ stated in a press release Alexandru Nicolcioiu, the manager of production of KMG International, former Group Rompetrol.
The company had the best yield for diesel production (49.5%)the quantity of fuel made and delivered of over 231,000 tons.At the same time, the yield of fuel ( gas, diesel) went up to 87,9% over the maximum of 85,6% reached in 2013.Once with the increase of the production of the Petromedia refinery KMG International, through the company Midia Marine Terminal, recorded in May the largest quantity of products operated through the harbour owned in Midia, of 270,000 tons.
‘In January – May 2014, over 200 ships transited the harbour in Midia Harbour, the total quantity of oil discharged through the maritime terminal situated in the Black Sea being over 17 million tons, since their setting up at the end of 2008.With a maximum annual capacity of 24 million tons, the terminal assured a reduction by approximately 120 million USD of the costs of supplying the refinery, the investment allocated by KMG International for the construction being covered since the level fo 15 million tons’ stated Ioan Taus, the general manager of Midia Marine Terminal.
Through the dane 9 of the Midia harbour were transited in May over 212,000 tons of finite products, going up by 6% against the maximum level of June 2013. At the same time, a number of 52 ships were operated in May in the company.
KMG International owns the refineries Petromidia Navodari and Vega Ploiesti and operates over 1,100 points of distribution of the fuels in Romania, France, Spain,the Republic of Moldova, Georgia, Bulgaria under the brands of Rompetrol and Dyneff.
