Romgaz does not extend the deadline requested by Duro Felguera and Romelectro for the finalisation of the unit in Iernut
The gas producer Romgaz announced that they do not extend the deadline requested by Duro Felguera and Romelectro for the finalisatioon of the Iernut thermo-electrical unit with a capacity of 430 MW, as the wors were already delayed, and the contractexpired on 26 December 2020.
In 2013, Romgaz extended the domain of activity through the assimilation of the thermal-electrical unit in Iernut, becoming producer and supplier of electricity.The thermal unit on gas in Iernut had to be finalised at the end of 2019, according to the programmed. The unit will have an installed capacity of 430 MW.
The main equipments and the basic engineering had to be supplied by Duro Felguera and Romelectro had to deal with the construction works on the part of detail engineering and delivry of auxiliary equipment.
Romgaz took over the present thermal unit in Iernut in 2013 from the thermal energy producer Elcen to finalise a debt of 653 million lei.
The state company planned investments of 15.69 billion lei until 2025, the biggest part in partnerships regarding projects offshore in the Black Sea. Out of this sum, in the production of electricity the company wants to invest 3.66 billion lei, in electrical units from Iernut and Mintia, but in sources of renewable energy as well.
Romgaz is the biggest producer and main supplier of natural gas in Romania. The company is accepted on trading on the market of the Stock Exchange in Bucharest (BVB) and Stock Exchange London (LSE).Main shareholder is the Romanian state with a share of 70%.
