Romgaz made payments of 7.7 billion lei to the Government in 2022
The National Society for Natural Gas Romgaz made payments to the government of Romania last year worth 7,705 billion lei, according to a report sent on Thursday to the Stock Exchange Bucharest.
According to the quoted source, in 2022, the taxes on income, for the production or profits of the commercial societies with the exception of taxes on consumption, such as tax on added value, tax on personal income or tax on sales, made 5.813 billion lei, and royalties – 5.813 billion lei.
Licence fees, rental fees, registration fees and other fees related to licences and/or concessions totalled RON 15.57 million.
As of August 1, 2022, Romgaz has acquired all the issued shares of ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Romania Limited, now Romgaz Black Sea Limited. The payments made by Romgaz Black Sea Limited were not included in the report, as the amount of payments made during the financial year 2022 was below the materiality threshold in the amount of 443,400 lei (equivalent to 100,000 euros), the source added.
SNGN Romgaz SA is engaged in the exploration, prospecting, discovery, development and exploitation of petroleum products from the fields in the company's portfolio.
The company's shares are admitted to trading on the regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The State, through the Ministry of Energy, is the main shareholder of the company with a 70.0071% stake.
