Mandatory pension funds assets at 28 February 2017 counted for approximately 33.176 billion lei
The mandatory pension funds (Pillar II)' assets at 28 February 2017 counted for approximately 33.176 billion lei (rd EUR 7.29 billion), up by 30.92 percent against the level they touched at 29 February 2016, says the data released by the Financial Supervision Authority (ASF).
The government securities enjoy the largest weight within, being worth 21.27 billion lei, which is 64.11 percent. They are seconded by the stocks with 6.74 billion lei (20.32 percent). The bank deposits come third with 2.1 billion lei, namely 6.35 percent of the assets.
The mandatory pension funds were numbering 6.856 million participants in February 2017. According to the ASF release that takes December 2016 as reference, as many as 6.710 million are participants for whom contributions were collected from the beginning of their being registered in the system, 3.894 million are participants for whom contributions were paid in December 2016, while 2.942 million are people for whom contributions were not received in December 2016.
The Pillar II counts for the following active pension funds: Metropolitan Life Pensii, Aripi, AZT Viitorul tau, BCR, BRD, NN and Vital.
