Documentary exhibition marks 500 years since building Turnul Rosu Monastery
The National Archives County Office based in Suceava county (northern Romania) with the support of Bucovina Museum is organising a documentary exhibition to mark 500 years since building Turnul Rosu Monastery over Aug. 15-Sept. 15 at the headquarters of the Romanian Armenians Union local branch.
According to Suceava National Archives, the exhibition is part of a range of events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Armenian Monastery Turnul Rosu.
Launched as part of the events was the Homage Album entitled Turnu Rosu 500 - Hagigadar 501, the 16th Century - An Auspicious Century for the Bucovina-based Armenian Spirituality published by Suceava-based Romanian Armenians Union and Suceava National Archives.
The album and the documentary exhibition seek to show the achievements - both lay and religious - of the Armenian community in Bucovina.
On display are objects from Sf. Simion, Sf. Cruce, Zamca and Mitoc Churches, a census of the Armenian families in Suceava, the statutes of the Armenian community in Suceava, the demand of Vienna-based Armenian colony to be set up as a branch of Suceava community, the 1904 Armenian calendar.
