Five dairy producers, fined for fake bids
The Competition Council sanctioned five companies producers of dairy products with fines worth 8.6 milion lei for the faking of bids, the highest fine being taken by Albalact, 5 million lei respectively,a press release of the institution says.
‘The fined companies are: Albalact SA, almost 5 million lei, Simultan SRL – 2.2 million lei, Dorna SA -1.02 million lei, Lacta SA – 261,306 lei and Deltalact SA – 139,860lei’ the press release says.
According to the institution, following the investigation, it was proved that during the bids the five companies acted in agreement as in the first stage there were offers for all the lots for bid presented by the contracting authorities,and in the second stage, of electronic bidding, divided the lots for which they bidded.
Two of the five companies Albalact SA and Simultan SRL admitted to the anti-competition deed and as a result, the fine was reduced with a percentage of 20% from the basic level, mentions the Competition Council.
‘A bid is efficient from the point of view of prices and quality of goods offered only under conditions of real competition. In this situation, the bidders acted in agreement: the contracts were given by rotation, each of the five companies, getting at least one contract in each bid’ the chairman of the institution Bogdan Chiritoiu said.
