A delegation of the European Parliament on an evaluation visit to the Republic of Moldova
A delegation of the European Parliament is expected on Tuesday in Kishinev on an evaluation visit of the level of implementation of the agreement for association to the EU – the Republic of Moldova and the use of the European financial support,informs Radio Kishinev.
The delegation –made up of 14 MEPs, members of the Commissions for External Affairs and Budgets and of the Parliamentary committee for association to the EU – the Republic of Moldova will evaluate the efficiency of the use of the assistance offered by Brussels.
The members of the delegation will have meetings with the Moldavian officials, with the representatives of the opposition and the civil society, among whom the leader of PAS Maia Sandu and the chairman of PDA Andrei Nastase, whose parties are considered anti-oligarchy.
The delegation of the commission for External Affairs is led by Laima Liucija Andrikiene and that of the commission for budgets by Siegfried Muresan,according to Jurnal.md.
The agenda of the future discussions with the officials in Kishinev aims at the progress of the reforms, aspects connected to the rule of law, good governance, the domain of justice and media as well as the evaluation of the actions to fight against corruption.
Later, the delegation of the European Parliament will visit Ukraine to evaluate the degree of implementation of the Agreement for association Ukraine-EU. About the results of the missions to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine,the MEPs will report in the commission for external affairs and the commission for budgets.
For Thursday,5 april there is organised the sixth reunion of the parliamentary committee for association EU – the Republic of Moldova, informs Radio Kishinev.
