Airbus Helicopters and the ministry of economy sign the document for the production of parts for Super Puma on 4 September
The Ministry of Economy and Airbus Helicopters will sign on 4 September an official document through which in IAR Ghimbav will be produced parts for Super Puma helicopters announced the social-democrat deputy (PSD) for Brasov Emil Nita, quoted by the Mediafax correspondent.
The Brasov deputy said that he made this announcement to put an end to the speculations with regards to the fact that Airbus Helicopters would look for another location.
‘The investment figure for Ghimbav will be mentioned in the memorandum which will be signed on 4 September. We are interested most in the creation of new work places meant for the production of added value for the Romanian society’ the PSD Brasov deputy said.Following the investment of Airbus, approximately 700 new work places will be created in Ghimbav, according to the quoted source.
The shareholders in IAR Brasov, the state-controlled company decided at the end of July to offer Airbus Helicopters a piece of land of 15,000 square metres for the production of Super Puma helicopters in Romania, as well as the indirect accession to shareholding of the company in Romania of Airbus Helicopter.
IAR Brasov will give Vadstena, the company registered by Airbus Helicopters in Romania a piece of land of 15,000 square metres in Ghimbav, Brasov county, on the basis of a contract (the right of ownership on the land where the building are placed).
On the respective piece of land Vadstena is going to build an industrial workshop of 8,550 square metres, destined to the project for the productin of helicopters type SuperPuma MK1 in Romania.
Thus, the land will be offered to Vadstena for the duration of the project regarding the production of helicopters SuperPuma Mk1 in Romania, but not more than 99 years while the price has to be at least equal to the one established by a company authorised for evaluations.
At the same time, the shareholders approved that the profit which was not shared, at the level of 2013, due to IAR from Eurocopter Romania to be used for the development fund and the acquisition of shares to Vadstena, as IAR is a shareholder to Eurocopter Romania.
The indirect access to the shareholding of the company in Romania of Airbus Helicopters will be made only after the signing of an agreement between Airbus Helicopters, Vadstena, Eurocopter Romania and IAR which presents the strategy for the division of the profits of the two companies controlled by Airbus Helicopters so that IAR has the guarantee to get the dividents in the years when either of the two companies has profit.
Super Puma helicopter has two seats for pilots and up to 19 seats for passengers.The helicopter has,in EC225 version a range of action of 1,135 km and can reach a maximum speed of 345 km/h.
The Super Puma helicopters created in 2002 developed activities connected to the civilian and military market and it is the main industrial centre in the group which develops repair works and modernisation for Puma and Alouette helicopters on the world market.
Starting with 2008, Eurocopter Romania launched activities for Super Puma helicopters by offering works for maintenance, capital repairs and upgrades.
The IAR Brasov, set up 90 years ago, produced up to 1945 over 1,000 planes of different types, and after the Second World War was transformed in tractor production unit.
In 1968 the place factory was reopened under the name of ICA Brasov and specialised in the production of helicopters in partnership with Aerospatiale France as present a subsidiary of the Eurocopter.
IAR is listed on the Rasdaq of BVB and the ministry of economy has 64.9% of the shares.
