Ambassador Ertas: Romania is one of the most important markets for Turkey
Turkey's Ambassador in Bucharest Osman Koray Ertas said on Monday that Romania is one of the most important markets for his country and that he wishes that the bilateral trade volume double to 10 billion dollars from approximately 5.5 billion dollars in 2015.
The ambassador has participated in Bucharest in the 'European Funds and state aids' seminar alongside state secretary in the Foreign Investments and Partnership Department Manuel Costescu, commercial councilor of the Turkish Embassy in Bucharest Mukerrem Aksoy, and Wise Finance Solutions CEO Bogdan Hossu.
"Romania is one of the most important markets for Turkey," the Turkish Ambassador pointed out, bringing to mind that the commercial exchanges between the two countries stood at 5.5 billion dollars last year. "We want to increase this figure to 10 [billion dollars], the Ambassador added.
He appreciated the "historical relations" between Romania and Turkey, and added that as regards the economic development, the "human factor" is an important element.
"The Romanian-Turkish economic relations should be developed more, and to do this we thought that the businesspersons should benefit from European funds," the ambassador said.
"Our potential is way higher, because this market could support us with many advantages. There are additional elements that help both economies. (...) I want the Turkish investors to benefit from the European funds of Romania in a win-win system," the ambassador added.
