AVERAGE GROSS EARNINGS ON TOTAL ECONOMY WERE 3329 LEI IN JULY 2017

In July 2017, the average gross nominal earnings were 3329 lei, by 0.5% higher than the one registered in June 2017.

The average net nominal earnings were 2391 lei, increasing as against the previous month with 11 lei (+0.5%).

The highest values of the average net nominal earnings were recorded in computer programming, consultancy and related activities (including information service activities) (6009 lei), while the lowest in accommodation and food service activities (1418 lei).
The gross average wage climbed 0.5 per cent in July against the previous month, up to 3,329 lei, while the net value stood at 2,391 lei, up 11 lei (+0.5 per cent), shows data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), made public on Thursday.
Compared with July last year, in July 2017 the net nominal wage increased 15.1 per cent. The real wage index accounted for 113.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Compared with the evolution of the consumer price, the real wage index accounted for 100.2 per cent in July 2017 compared with the previous month. Compared with October 1990, the real wage index accounted for 180 per cent, by 0.3 percentage points higher than the one recorded in June 2017.
In the public sector, increases in the net wage gain accounted for 5.1 per cent compared with the previous month, after the implementation of the in force legislation, in healthcare and social assistance (+0.3 per cent). On the other side of the scale, the net average wage in the education sector dropped 3.5 per cent in July compared with the previous month, because of the cut operated in the pay per hour of the teaching staff during the summer holiday.
