BestJobs poll: One in two Romanian employees believes economy must be restarted at any risk
One in two Romanian employees believes that the economy must be restarted at any risk and awaits to return to the office this summer, even though the length and severity of the COVID-19 epidemic are marked by a high degree of uncertainty, a BestJobs poll shows, conducted on a sample of 1,042 internet users in Romania between April 20 - May 4, 2020,
"Half of the Romanian employees that answered the poll conducted by recruiting platform BestJobs believe that returning to the office this summer is a good measure, because the economy must be restarted at any risk. 28.4 pct don't see a return to the office necessary because they are working just as well from home, while 13.5 pct consider such a measure still too risky," the poll shows.
Furthermore, more than half of those polled (57 pct), who now work from home, are expecting to return to the office in the months of May and June, depending on the development of the COVID-19 epidemic and the measures that will be announced by the authorities, and 8 pct say they will not go back, but continue to work from home. Another 11.2 pct of those interviewed believe that returning to the office would be without risk only towards the end of the year, while 4 pct see this possible next year.
The responders to the BestJobs poll believe there is need for a modification of the work hours so that peak hours are avoided (41.3 pct), and that only a part of employees should come to the office in the first phase (37.6 pct).
