Bosch wants to invest another 100 million euro in Blaj
The German industrial group Bosch will open at least two production units in the town of Blaj, Alba county, whose construction will begin in August 2011, the mayor of Blaj, Gheorghe Rotar said.
The investment will be about 100 million euro and the new production halls will be completed in 2014. Rotar did not say how many people would be hired by the Germans.
The German company owns Rexroth factory in Blaj with two production halls for the manufacture of car parts and 800 employees. Next year the number of employees will grow to 1200, according to the mayor.Bosch has invested over 30 million euro in the last five years and this is the biggest investment in South Eastern Europe.
The Germans had a business figure of 161 million euro last year, on the rise by 17% compared to 2009. For 2011 the company expects a business increase by 7% to 172 million euro.Bosch has over 1000 employees in Romania working in five centers : Rexroth factory with two units in Blaj, the communication centre in Timisoara, the extension centre for the manufacture of windshield wipers in Sibiu and distribution company BSH Electric household appliances in Bucharest. Bosch is one of the largest world manufacturers in the car industry, industrial technology, consumer goods and building and has had operations in Romania since 1994.
