Campaign for the acquisition of the sculpture Wisdom of Earth by Constantin Brancusi, launched by the government
The government and the Ministry of Culture officially launched on Thursday the campaign in support of the national public fundraiser for the acquisition of the sculpture Wisdom of Earth by modernism pioneer Constantin Brancusi.
According to a government release, the campaign will run until September 30 and needs an as broad as possible support, as it also happened in the case of the Romanian Athenaeum.
The government states that this is one of the most important national projects, capable of strengthening solidarity between the state and the society and aimed at recovering a component of the local cultural identity.
The campaign in support of the national public fundraiser is aimed at raising 6 million euro until September 30, which will add to the 5 million euro already earmarked by the government for the purchase of the sculpture, the release states.
