"Stone Dragon", the first time presented at BSDA exhibition
Ejder Yalcin ("Stone Dragon" in Turkish), the 4x4 tactical armored combat vehicle, was for the first time presented to the Romanian public at the Black Sea Defense & Aerospace (BSDA) exhibition. The vehicle represents a polyvalent solution developed in cooperation with the Romanian defence industry, offering high-ballistic protection in all environmental conditions and on any terrain.
The company Nurol Makina ve Sanayi A.S. started producing armored tactical vehicles in cooperation with Romania's national company Romarm in the mid ?90s. One of the vehicles is the 4x4 Ejder Yalcin, a dynamic, agile, modular, versatile, easy to maintain for low cost combat vehicle. With a payload capacity of up to 4 tons and the capability to integrate different types of weapons, the 4x4 Ejder Yalcin is an ideal platform for various applications such as reconnaissance, command and control, and homeland security.
"We hope the Romanian authorities consider us a reliable partner in the production of high-performing military vehicles that meet the requirements of the Romanian side, as well as of other countries. In the future, we hope to work more closely with the Romanian weapons industry," Engin Aykol, Nurol Makina ve Sanayi AS general manager, told AGERPRES.
Ejder Yalcin 4x4 is equipped with independent suspension on all wheels, an essential feature of all-terrain vehicles. The autonomy and versatility of each wheel confers the vehicle better stability, safe driving in mountain areas included.
The additional load and extension capacity allows the base vehicle to be reconfigured as a platform capable to incorporate the necessary military equipment and armament.
The Ejder Yalcin, featuring a V-shaped hull design, integrates floating floor plates and blast mitigation seating and can be reconfigured as a vehicle for the detection of improvised explosive devices, anti-aircraft vehicle, anti-tank weapon, troops carrier, or as an armored ambulance.
