CEO Raiffeisen Bank Romania: After Brexit Romania has opportunity to attract investors

Romania is facing the opportunity to attract foreign investors after Brexit, Steven van Groningen, CEO Raiffeisen Bank Romania declared at ZF Bankers 2016 conference organized by Ziarul Financiar on Tuesday.

British investors are uncertain, a situation which could last for 1-2 years. Romania could attract foreign investors but it needs an attractive legislative frame. The opportunity exists but we cannot establish a friendly environment. Instead of doing that we introduce laws that apply retroactively, Steven van Groningen said.

The head of Raiffeisen Bank referred to the law on debt discharge that came into force at the end of May which aroused dissatisfaction among bankers.
