CNSP: Industrial production to drop by 4.2 pct in 2020
Industrial production will drop by 4.2 pct in the extractive industry in 2020 and by 4.3 pct in the manufacturing industry, according to the preliminary forecast published by the National Commission on Strategy and Forecast (CNSP).
The highest setback is to be recorded in the manufacture of clothing, respectively 25.8 pct. Decreases of more than 10 pct will also be recorded in the extraction of upper and lower coal (minus 11.9 pct), the manufacture of textile products (minus 12.8 pct), the cutting and finishing of the skins (minus 17.3 pct) and the processing of wood, the manufacture of wood products (minus 14.1 pct).
On the other hand, increases are only expected in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products (plus 15.1 pct), metal ore extraction (plus 10.4 pct), manufacture of tobacco products (plus 8.6 pct), drinks (plus 7.6 pct), food industry (plus 5.8 pct), manufacture of coke products, oil processing (plus 1.3 pct).
According to the CNSP, the industrial production decreased by 2.3 pct in 2019.
