Exhibition with works by Salvador Dali, at ARCUB - Gabroveni Inn
An exhibition with works by Salvador Dali will be visited at ARCUB – Hanul Gabroveni between 13th December 2023 and 12th May 2024.
The exhibition will include 170 works – sculptures, graphics, engravings, lithographs, gold miniatures, rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphire and glass, surrealist furniture.
The exhibition ‘Salvador Dali’s universe’ will be visited starting with Monday to Sunday, between 10:00 and 20:00. The event is organised by the Bucharest Town Hall through ARCUB in partnership with HADRAN Events.
"The objects on display are part of the most important private collection containing works signed by Salvador Dali belonging to the renowned art collector Beniamino Levi. Beniamino Levi met the artist personally in the 1960s and commissioned a series of bronze sculptures inspired by the most famous motifs and themes of the surrealist imagination. The result of a close relationship with the master of surrealism, Beniamino Levi being his agent, the private collection 'Dali's Universe' is of inestimable value and includes the most original works of the famous Spanish artist in Europe," the source said.
Among the most famous exhibits that can be admired for five months at ARCUB - Gabroveni Inn are: sculptures in bronze and inlaid with precious stones such as "The Dance of Time", elephants with oversized legs, "The Dalinian Dancer", "Space Venus", "Alice in Wonderland", "Rose-headed Woman".
The exhibition will include glass sculptures created in collaboration with the Daum glassworks in France, as well as works such as ‘Venus with drawers’, ‘Chippendale the rhino’ or golden miniatures. Among the exhibits there will also be Mae West’s famous lip-shaped sofa.
