Florin Jianu: Romania should rank among first 20 countries for entrepreneurial support

Romania should rank among the first 20 countries at global level for entrepreneurial support and should be the most powerful country in the south-eastern part of Europe, said Florin Jianu, the president of the National Council of Private Small and Medium Private Companies in Romania (CNIPMMR) at the conference launching the “2016-2020 Business Management Program”.

Romania should be an attractive country favourable to business development and should be the most powerful country in south-eastern Europe. I think Romania should be among the first 20 countries for entrepreneurial support. Now we rank 37th , according to World Bank report Doing Business, while we rank 42nd in Global Entrepreneurship Index,” Florin Jianu said.

According to him, the state has already reached its efficiency limits so that authority transfer from the state to entities in public private partnership is a reachable target.

“We proposed two very simple laws. One which says that the state should not request a document which it already has. A second law says the state should not initiate administrative sanctions without preventive actions,”Jianu shows.

Strategic objectives of the “2016-2020 Business Management Program” launched by CNIPMMR also has in view the setting up of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, the Romanian investors’ protection by backing their investment efforts and the promotion of their export interests, the authority transfer from the state to entities of public private partnership, an attractive fiscal system, curbing unemployment among young people from 24% at present to less than 10% in two years and less than 5% in the next two years.

“The ruling program intends to be the first program in the last 25 years coming form the business environment. We must say what we need and expect from future government,” Jianu pointed out.

The program launched by CNIPMMR has 6 chapters and was drawn up by consulting Council members from the whole country.

The ruling program was sent to party representatives and CNIPMMR will discuss these measures with politicians.

The CNIPMMR president says that a third stage would be finding these measures in the program of the future government.

Through the program initiated, the Council intends to make politicians adopt the principles included in the document and understand the need of unitary approach, taking into account the needs of small entrepreneurs.
