ForMin Comanescu met AMRO's president, Eric Stewart
Foreign Affairs Minister Lazar Comanescu welcomed on Wednesday president of the American - Romanian Business Council (AMRO) Eric Stewart, who is currently paying a visit to Romania. The Foreign Minister reiterated on the occasion the Romanian Government's commitment to consolidating the economic dimension of the Romania - USA Strategic Partnership.
According to a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) release, Lazar Comanescu underlined the role AMRO can play in stimulating investment and bilateral commercial exchanges. In this respect, he highlighted the importance of capitalising on the opportunities provided by AMRO's future economic promotion mission in Bucharest, scheduled for February 2016.
Moreover, Minister Comanescu presented the Government's objectives in respect to increasing the institutional transparency, predictability and efficiency, the release reads.
Eric Stewart voiced interest in contributing to the medium and long-term development of the Romanian-US economic relations, stressing the satisfaction of the AMRO member companies with the projects developed in Romania, MAE shows.
The American - Romanian Business Council is a non-profit organisation based in Washington, aimed at promoting the economic relations between the U.S. and Romania, launched on January 25, 2012, in Washington. AMRO currently numbers 21 US famous companies, among which: ADM, Amgen, American International Forest Products, Amerocap, Cargill, Chevron, Coca-Cola Company, Eli Lilly, ExxonMobil, Johnson & Johnson.
